Chyron Corporation supplies character generator and graphics hardware and software to the television industry worldwide. Its hardware products include the Graphics System/CG Family that provides enhanced performance for television graphics applications; XClyps, which provides control over graphics playout; Channel Box HA/Channel Box, for branding applications; DynaCrawl/DynaCrawl Squeezeback/DynaCrawl HD/SD that gathers, updates, and displays user-selected data; CodiStrator HD/SD Telestration Systems that enable two commentators to illustrate in real time over live video; ChyTV line of digital signage products; ChyTV.net for home network operators; ChyTV HD 100 and HD 150, an video graphics information display systems; ChyTV Plus, which provides S-video and component video inputs and outputs; ChyAlert that adds alert messages to video source; and ChyAlert-2CH, an two-channel video emergency and security alert system. The company’s software products include Lyric, a graphics creation and playback application; Lyric Enhancement Interface Framework, a Chyron application programming interface; and Chyron Application Library, used to create customized broadcast graphics applications. It also offers newsroom integration and asset management products, including the CAMIO suite of asset management tools, search engine, and visual browsers; iSQ, an intelligent sequencer; OMS, an order management system; mobile suite of products that integrates cell phones with the news production workflow; WAPSTR, a multimedia messaging gateway; MOS2WAP used in publication of WAP pages; and interFuse. Chyron Corporation serves traditional broadcast, production and post-production facilities, government agencies, educational, health institutions, religious institutions, and telecommunications and corporate customers. The company was founded in 1966 as The Computer Exchange, Inc. It changed its name to Chyron Corporation in 1975. The company is headquartered in Melville, New York.
