REX Stores Corporation operates as a specialty retailer in the consumer electronics and appliance industry in the United States. Its stores offer various products, including televisions (TVs), big screen TVs, TV/VCR/DVD combos, plasma/LCD TVs, and light engine TVs; video equipments, such as camcorders, DVD players, DVD recorders, and DVD/VCR combos; and audio equipments comprising stereo systems, receivers, compact disc players, speakers, car stereos, portable radios, and home theater systems under various brand names. The company also provides household appliances, such as air conditioners, microwave ovens, washers, dryers, ranges, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, and dehumidifiers. As of January 31, 2008, REX Stores operated 115 stores under the ‘REX’ name in 34 states. In addition, the company leases its real estate properties, as well as has investments in entities that construct and operate ethanol producing plants. REX Stores was founded in 1980 and is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio.
