It sells its oil and natural gas production to end users, marketers, and other purchasers. As of December 31, 2006, the company’s estimated proved reserves were 118.3 Million Barrels of Oil Equivalent (MMBoe), with estimated proved developed reserves of 87.1 MMBoe. Continental Resources had 1,772 scheduled drilling locations on 1,775,000 gross acres. The company was formed in 1967 as Shelly Dean Oil Company. It changed its name to Hamm Production Company in 1976 and to Continental Trend Resources, Inc. in 1987. Further, it changed its name to Continental Resources, Inc. in 1991.
