| Banco de Chile, together with its subsidiaries, provides commercial and general banking services to large corporations, small and mid-sized businesses, and individuals in Chile. The company operates in two markets: the retail market, which includes the operations of individuals and middle-market companies; and the wholesale market, which includes the operations of large corporations, large companies, and treasury and money market operations. It provides various credit and non-credit products/services to the Chilean financial market; and offers securities brokerage, mutual fund and investment fund management, financial advisory, factoring, insurance brokerage, securitization, trade, collection, and sales services. The company also offers corporate banking services, including commercial loans covering working capital facilities and trade finance; foreign exchange, capital market services, and cash management; and non-credit services, such as payroll and payment transactions. In addition, Banco de Chile provides a range of treasury and risk management products to its corporate customers; and credit cards, residential mortgage, and auto and consumer loans, as well as traditional deposit services, such as checking and savings accounts, and time deposits to its individual customers. Further, the company offers international banking services. As of December 31, 2008, it operated through a network of 371 branches, 1,584 ATMs, and other electronic distribution channels.
