Its Excess and Surplus Lines segment provides commercial liability, commercial property, product liability, and environmental liability coverage to commercial enterprises, including restaurants, artisan contractors, daycare centers, and manufacturers, as well as professional liability coverage for healthcare providers and other professionals. It also writes primary casualty, excess/umbrella, and property lines of business for businesses that fall outside of the standard insurance market's portfolio. The company’s Select Markets segment offers insurance and risk management products in food and hospitality, religious institutions, and specialty retail areas; and writes package, workers compensation, auto, and umbrella coverage for small to medium-sized businesses. It also writes liability, property, umbrella, and workers compensation coverage for grocery accounts through a network of independent agencies that specialize in the grocery industry, as well as direct writers and grocery warehouse-owned agencies in the United States. This segment also writes specialty workers' compensation insurance for commercial and coal mining operations; workers compensation, general liability, commercial automobile, and commercial property coverage for small commercial businesses, including office, retail operations, light manufacturing, services, and restaurants; and risk management services and solutions to preferred governmental entities and public school districts. Argo Group’s International Specialty segment provides specialty property catastrophe reinsurance, property per risk reinsurance, proportional property reinsurance, property insurance, casualty insurance, and casualty reinsurance products and services worldwide.
