About Allegheny Technologies (NYSE:ATI)
Allegheny Technologies Incorporated manufactures and sells specialty metals worldwide. The company operates in three segments: High Performance Metals, Flat-Rolled Products, and Engineered Products. The High Performance Metals segment produces, converts, and distributes a range of high performance alloys, including nickel- and cobalt-based alloys and superalloys; titanium and titanium-based alloys; exotic metals, such as zirconium, hafnium, niobium, nickel-titanium, and their related alloys; and other specialty alloys in various forms comprising ingot, billet, bar, rod, wire, and seamless tube. It sells products directly to end-use customers in the aerospace and defense, chemical process, oil and gas, medical, and electrical energy sectors. The Flat-Rolled Products segment offers stainless steel, nickel-based alloys, and titanium and titanium-based alloys in various product forms, such as plate, sheet, engineered strip, and precision rolled strip products, as well as grain-oriented electrical steel to independent service centers and end-use customers. It serves chemical process, oil and gas, electrical energy, automotive, food equipment and appliances, machine and cutting tools, construction and mining, aerospace and defense, electronics, communication equipment, and computers industries. The Engineered Products segment includes the production of tungsten powder, tungsten heavy alloys, tungsten carbide materials, and tungsten carbide cutting tools. It also manufactures carbon alloy steel impression die forgings, and grey and ductile iron castings, as well as provides precision metals processing services, such as grinding, polishing, blasting, cutting, flattening, and ultrasonic testing. This segment serves various industrial markets, including automotive, chemical process, oil and gas, machine and cutting tools, aerospace, construction and mining, and other markets. Allegheny Technologies Incorporated was founded in 1960 and is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
