This segment’s institutional products comprise equity, futures, options, and foreign currency trade execution solutions; block trading; program trading; international equities; special situations/risk arbitrage; soft dollar and commission recapture programs; corporate access services; direct market access; and crossing networks. Its customers include broker-dealers clients, including global, national, and regional broker-dealers and on-line brokers; and institutional clients consisting of mutual funds, pension plans, plan sponsors, hedge funds, trusts, and endowments. The company was founded in 1995. It was formerly known as Knight/Trimark Group, Inc. and changed its name to Knight Trading Group, Inc. in 2000.
