It operates in two segments, RiskMetrics and Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS). The RiskMetrics segment provides multi-asset, position-based risk, and wealth management products and services to asset managers, hedge funds, banks, insurance companies, pension funds, and wealth managers. Its suite of products and services covers a range of asset classes, including equities, bonds, commodities, foreign exchange, futures, options, derivatives, structured products, interest-rate products, and credit products. This segment offers RiskManager, a market risk system that enables its customers to measure risk in their portfolios and run sensitivity and stress test analyses; HedgePlatform, a reporting service allowing clients to measure, evaluate, and monitor the risk of their hedge fund investments; and DataMetrics, a data service that allows clients to access the market data embedded in RiskManager for use in their own proprietary or other third-party systems. It also offers CreditManager, a portfolio credit risk management system used primarily by banks to calculate economic capital, facilitate risk-based pricing, and measure risk concentrations; and WealthBench, an investment planning platform for private banks, financial advisors, brokerages, and trust companies. The ISS segment offers corporate governance services, such as proxy research and voting, global proxy distribution, and securities class action services; and financial research and analysis services, including forensic accounting research, M&A edge, and compensation services, as well as environmental, social, and governance services to institutional investors, corporations, and professional service firms.
