The company operates in three segments: Shrink Management Solutions, Intelligent Labels, and Retail Merchandising. The Shrink Management Solutions segment provides electronic article surveillance system to control the problem of merchandise theft in retail stores. It also offers Evolve, a suite of radio frequency (RF) and radio-frequency identification (RFID) enabled products that provide enhanced system performance and networking capability information. In addition, this segment offers various reusable security tags that protect apparel items and entertainment products. Further, it provides closed circuit television products and services, including fixed and high-speed pan/tilt/zoom camera systems, programmable switcher controls, time-lapse recording, and remote video surveillance, as well as fire and intrusion systems that provide life safety and property protection. The Intelligent Labels segment offers electronic article surveillance (EAS) labels comprising EAS-RF and EAS electromagnetic labels that work in combination with company’s EAS systems to control the problem of merchandise theft in retail stores; and Check-Net, a Web-enabled apparel labeling solutions platform that supplies retail apparel tags and labels, as well as integrated branding, barcode, and EAS security tags. It also provides RFID-based intelligent library solutions and RFID tags and labels. The Retail Merchandising segment offers hand-held label applicators and tags, promotional displays, and queuing systems. The company serves retailers in the apparel, drug, home entertainment, mass merchandise, music, shoe, supermarket, and video markets through direct distribution and reseller channels. Checkpoint Systems has a strategic sales and marketing alliance with 3M Library Systems. The company was founded in 1969 and is based in Thorofare, New Jersey.
