| | TravelCenters of America LLC and its subsidiaries engage in the operation and franchising of travel centers primarily along the United States interstate highway system. It offers diesel fuel and gasoline; full service restaurants under Iron Skillet, Country Pride, Buckhorn Family Restaurants, and Fork in the Road brands; and quick serve restaurants under Arby's, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Popeye's Chicken & Biscuits, Starbuck's Coffee, Subway, and Taco Bell brands. The company also operates truck repair and maintenance shops, which offer services ranging from basic services, such as oil changes and tire repair to specialty services, including diagnostics and repair of air conditioning, air brakes, and electrical systems; and travel and convenience stores that provide food and snack items, beverages, non-prescription drug and beauty supplies, batteries, automobile accessories, and music and video products, as well as laundry supplies, clothing, and truck accessories. In addition, it provides business services, including an information center where drivers can send and receive faxes, overnight mail, and other communications; and a banking desk where drivers can cash checks and receive funds transfers from fleet operators, as well as offers a video game room, a laundry area, private showers, a theater or television room, and casino gaming. The companys customers include long haul trucking fleets and their drivers, independent truck drivers, and motorists. As of December 31, 2007, its business included 236 travel centers in the United States and the province of Ontario, Canada. The company was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Westlake, Ohio. |
