It focuses on exploration, development, and production related to oil and gas activities. The company’s Exploration and Production segment explores for, develops, and produces natural gas and oil reserves West Texas Overthrust (WTO). Its Drilling and Oil Field Services segment drills wells for other oil and natural gas companies, primarily in the west Texas region. This segment’s oil field services include providing pulling units, mud logging, trucking, rental tools, location and road construction, and roustabout services to third-parties. Its Midstream Gas Services segment provides natural gas gathering, compression, processing, and treating services in the west Texas and the Piceance Basin in northwestern Colorado. The company also gathers CO2 from natural gas treatment plants located in the Delaware and Val Verde Basins of west Texas, as well as treats and transports CO2 for third-parties’ tertiary oil recovery operations. It also owns interests in natural gas and oil interests in the Cotton Valley Trend in East Texas, the Gulf Coast area, the Gulf of Mexico, Oklahoma, and the Piceance Basin of Colorado. As of December 31, 2007, the company had total estimated net proved reserves of 1,516.2 billion cubic feet equivalent, of which 86% were natural gas. It also had 1,234 net producing wells and had interests in approximately 822,287 net natural gas and oil leased acres. In addition, the company had 30 rigs in the WTO, 6 rigs in East Texas, 2 rigs in Oklahoma, and 2 rigs in other areas. SandRidge Energy, Inc. was founded in 1984.
