It operates in three segments: Wireline Services, Wireless Services, and Other Services. The Wireline Services segment provides various voice services; and data, Internet, and video services primarily through telecommunications network to mass markets, business, and wholesale customers. This segments voice services include local voice services, long-distance voice services, and access services; data, Internet, and video services comprising broadband access, data integration, private line, multi-protocol label switching, Web hosting, and VoIP; and traditional data and Internet services that include asynchronous transfer mode, frame relay, dedicated Internet access, and virtual private network, as well as integrated services digital network and Internet dial access; and video services. The Wireless Services segment offers access to a wireless network within local service area; voice products, such as voice calling, two-way text messaging, and data services; and integrated services that enable customers to use the same telephone number and voice mailbox for their wireless phone as for their home or business phone. The Other Services segment involves in the sublease of real estate properties, such as space in office buildings, warehouses, and other properties. The company sells its products and services through its sales and call centers, and Web site, as well as through telemarketing, retail stores, and kiosks. Qwest Communications International was founded in 1983 and is based in Denver, Colorado. |
