The company, through its subsidiaries, services nonconforming residential mortgage portfolios; and provides a range of asset and servicing portfolio valuation, analysis, and marketing services for performing, sub-performing, and non-performing assets. It also underwrites property, casualty, personal lines, life, and health insurance; and has contracts with various wholesale insurance outlets allowing it to access insurance markets worldwide. The company has elected to be taxed as a real estate investment trust. As a result, it would not be subject to corporate income tax on that portion of its net income that is distributed to shareholders.
